About The Position

The Floor Clerk is responsible for supporting daily production activities within the Coated Insulated Products (CIP) department by ensuring operators have the materials, equipment, and support needed to remain focused on producing quality products safely and efficiently. Working under the direction of the Production Manager, the Floor Clerk helps execute daily priorities by staging materials, preparing equipment, cleaning production components, relieving operators for breaks, and responding to changing production needs throughout the shift. This role serves as a flexible resource that removes obstacles, improves workflow, and helps maximize productive operating time.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Fork Truck license is required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily production priorities established by the Production Manager.
  • Stage raw materials, work-in-process, and finished materials for upcoming production.
  • Prepare coating tanks, racks, fixtures, carts, and other production equipment for use.
  • Clean production parts, tooling, and equipment as required.
  • Assist with production changeovers and setup activities.
  • Help maintain smooth production flow by responding to changing department needs.
  • Provide break and lunch relief for operators as assigned.
  • Assist operators with material handling and movement.
  • Help prepare workstations before and after production runs.
  • Respond quickly to requests that allow operators to remain focused on production.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the department.
  • Support departmental 5S initiatives.
  • Organize carts, fixtures, tooling, and production supplies.
  • Remove waste materials and keep production areas orderly.
  • Move materials between work centers as directed.
  • Stage materials for upcoming production orders.
  • Return unused materials to designated storage locations.
  • Ensure production areas remain properly stocked with required supplies.
  • Work closely with Production, Scheduling, Quality, Maintenance, and Shipping as needed to support departmental objectives.
  • Communicate material shortages, equipment concerns, or production issues to the Production Manager.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by assisting wherever support is needed to achieve daily production goals.
