About The Position

Downeast Cider is looking for high-energy, hardworking, and reliable Seasonal Bartenders to join their East Boston Outdoor Pop-Up & Cider Garden for the 2024 season. This role involves creating an atmosphere and serving customers in a fast-paced, high-volume outdoor environment. While seasonal through October, there is potential for a year-round part-time position. The role requires creating a positive vibe, managing opening/closing procedures, maintaining a clean bar, following safety protocols, handling kegs (up to 60 lbs), using Toast POS for orders and cash handling, sampling products, and assisting with restocking and inventory.

Requirements

2+ years in a customer-service-centered role (Restaurant or Retail experience is a huge plus).
Must be 21+.
TIPS certified (or willing to become certified before starting).
Extremely responsible, a self-starter, and an initiative-taker.
Can thrive in an environment where the pace changes quickly.
Comfortable standing for 6–8 hours.
Comfortable lifting heavy kegs.
Minimum of 3 shifts per week, including at least one weekend day.
Must work at least 12 hours per week.
Available for the full May–October season with no major schedule changes.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Toast POS.
Bilingual (Spanish) or ASL proficiency.
Crowd Control or First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

Provide top-tier customer service and maintain great energy with both guests and teammates.
Manage opening/closing procedures.
Maintain a clean and sanitary bar.
Follow all safety protocols.
Move, lift, and tap/untap kegs and product (must be able to handle up to 60 lbs).
Use Toast POS (including Toast Go handhelds) for orders and cash handling.
Sample products and accurately describe ciders to customers.
Assist with restocking merch, cans, and kegs.
Perform basic inventory reporting and operational troubleshooting.
