About The Position

Milgard Windows and Doors, part of MITER Brands, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Continuous Improvement (CI) Coordinator to support our facility's operational excellence initiatives. This role is responsible for coordinating process improvement activities that drive safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance throughout the operation. Working closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams, the CI Coordinator will help identify improvement opportunities, facilitate Lean Manufacturing activities, track project progress, analyze operational data, and support a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is passionate about problem-solving, process optimization, employee engagement, and operational excellence and is eager to make a measurable impact in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree required.
  • 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, continuous improvement, project coordination, or a related analytical role.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to gather, interpret, and analyze operational data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Candidates must provide truthful and complete information regarding their eligibility to work in the U.S. and any current or future need for employment sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional projects and tracking performance metrics preferred.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification is a plus.
  • Experience with manufacturing systems, ERP platforms, reporting tools, or data visualization software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support facility Continuous Improvement initiatives focused on improving safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Identify, document, and evaluate process improvement opportunities through direct observation, employee feedback, and data analysis.
  • Coordinate Continuous Improvement projects that align with operational goals and business objectives.
  • Facilitate and support Kaizen events, process improvement workshops, and structured problem-solving activities.
  • Assist with process mapping, time studies, waste identification, root cause analysis, and improvement implementation.
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement tools including A3 Problem Solving, 5 Why Analysis, and RHEO Smart Video technology to support process enhancements.
  • Track improvement opportunities, project timelines, action items, and results to ensure sustainability and accountability.
  • Coordinate project schedules, meetings, communications, and follow-up activities.
  • Maintain project documentation, performance metrics, and Continuous Improvement records.
  • Monitor project milestones and communicate progress updates to facility leadership and stakeholders.
  • Assist teams in identifying and removing barriers to successful implementation.
  • Escalate issues as needed to maintain project momentum and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data to measure project effectiveness and operational impact.
  • Support the delivery of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement training programs.
  • Assist with onboarding employees to CI tools, methodologies, and expectations.
  • Encourage employee participation in improvement initiatives, suggestion programs, and problem-solving activities.
  • Partner with leaders to recognize and celebrate successful improvement efforts.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Gather, analyze, and present operational data to support business decisions and improvement efforts.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, visual management tools, and performance scorecards.
  • Track and report productivity improvements, cost savings, quality enhancements, and project outcomes.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to support operational excellence initiatives.
  • Support plant safety programs and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in audits, assessments, and operational reviews as required.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
