About The Position

SAIC is seeking a CI/CD Pipeline Developer with strong technical depth in automation and pipeline engineering. The role focuses on architecting, developing, and optimizing GitLab-centric CI/CD workflows. The developer collaborates with Java and C++ developers, testers, and infrastructure teams to streamline code integration and delivery, improve developer experience through automation and consistent environments, and support containerization and orchestration strategies. The position also maintains documentation of pipeline architecture, configurations, and workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience using the GitLab environment for CI/CD pipeline creation, orchestration, and automation.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Solid understanding of Git workflows and modern branching strategies.
• Experience supporting Java-based applications or working directly with Java development teams.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Helm.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse technical teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Detail-oriented, with a commitment to scalable and secure software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, with a heavy emphasis on GitLab-centric workflows.
• Collaborate with Java developers, C++ developers, testers, and infrastructure teams to streamline code integration and delivery.
• Implement branching strategies, merge processes, and version control standards using Git and GitLab.
• Enhance developer experience through automation, pipeline refinement, and environment consistency.
• Support containerization and orchestration strategies using Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Maintain detailed documentation of pipeline architecture, configurations, and process workflows.
