About The Position

The Christmas Kettle Driver transports employees or volunteers to and from assigned kettle locations where shuttle service is provided, delivers and retrieves kettle stands according to a scheduled route, and collects Christmas donations from assigned locations. The driver ensures kettles are properly set up and secured when dropped off, and reports signs of tampering when retrieving them. The role also includes conducting vehicle safety checks, maintaining regular on-time attendance, and performing other kettle-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years old to drive for The Salvation Army.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Motor vehicle record must not exceed two points in total.
• Motor vehicle record must show no DUI within the last 18 months.
• Ability to take and pass a decision driving course.
• Must be a safe and alert driver.

Responsibilities

• Transport employees or volunteers to kettle sites at locations that provide shuttles to stores.
• Ensure passengers wear secured seat belts when being transported.
• Drop off and pick up kettles according to the provided scheduled route.
• Ensure kettles are properly set up and secured with locks when dropped off for the start of a bell-ringing shift.
• Pick up kettles at the end of the bell-ringing day and report suspected signs of tampering.
• Collect Christmas donations, including toys and food, from assigned locations.
• Conduct pre-vehicle safety checks, including checking tires and brake lights.
• Maintain regular, on-time attendance.
• Perform other duties related to kettles as assigned.
