About The Position

Kohler Co. manufacturing teams are hiring! We’re looking for passionate individuals to join a culture dedicated to safety and innovation, with opportunities for advancement within our Brownwood location. We are looking to fill a Chopper Operator position in our Plastics Department. This position will be based at our Brownwood, TX location, where we specialize in manufacturing high-quality bathroom products, including luxury bathtubs and toilets.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in the US without restrictions or sponsorship.
  • Effective communication skills for manufacturing production processes.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, including bending, lifting, and pushing weights of up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
  • Consistent attendance and work performance.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.

  • Must be able to read/interpret and apply detailed work instructions and utilize visual aids/charts to ensure manufacturing design/specifications are met.

  • Must have ability to distinguish between shades of colors.
  • Working knowledge of gel coat/FRP process and industry standards is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Applies gel coat/FRP in a multi-stage manufacturing process to achieve uniform coverage that meets desired laminate thickness within targeted weight standards.
  • Works as a member of the glassing team in a paced manufacturing cell with limited time allotted to each process step or operation.
  • Utilizes established techniques and adopted best practices to ensure consistency of Quality, minimal interruptions to workflow, and minimization of any form of waste in the manufacturing cell.
  • Operates, inspects, & adjusts spray equipment to insure optimum performance and serviceability. Reports maintenance needs immediately to supervision.
  • Utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) to include respiratory protection and maintains issued PPE in a serviceable condition by following work instructions and/or safety practices.
  • Maintains safe work areas by routinely cleaning and organizing materials/equipment according to the 5S principals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
