About The Position
The Riverside Choir is a diverse semi-professional group of 40+ singers, ranging in ability from volunteer and avocational to fully professional. They offer various positions on a sliding scale of compensation. The choir sings the full range of traditional choral repertoire from classical composers such as Mendelssohn, Handel, and Howells, to modern composers and African-American spirituals. There are occasional solo opportunities.
Requirements
- High level of musicianship.
- Experience in choral/ensemble singing.
- Confidence.
- Good sense of pitch.
- Proficient music reading.
- Ability to blend chorally.
- Ability to sing comfortably with limited vibrato.
- Major holiday attendance is expected.
Responsibilities
- Sing in all voice parts for the Sub List.
- Fill limited SAB position openings.
- Sing traditional choral repertoire, including classical, modern, and African-American spirituals.
- Perform in services and occasional choral concerts.
- Potentially take on solo opportunities.
- Sing through the summer months in small rotating groups.
Benefits
