About The Position

As a Process Operator, you will maintain and operate all processing equipment and machines to produce snacks of the highest quality in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves working the 2nd shift, from 4pm to 12am/Midnight, with mandatory overtime. You will be responsible for ensuring the correct product is run according to schedules, changing processing machines (fryers) over to different cuts, and routinely changing knives to maintain product quality. The role requires monitoring and adjusting machine settings, continuously checking quality test readings for salt levels, moisture, oil absorption, defects, breakage, and color. You will also run samples on incoming potato loads, fill and monitor salt application machinery, perform minor maintenance, and keep work areas neat, clean, orderly, and safe. Additionally, you will complete and submit required paperwork and checklists, and maintain open communication with fellow departments, maintenance, production, QA, and supervision. Weekly responsibilities include reporting maintenance needs after shutdown, performing weekly cleaning on fryers and surrounding areas, and working with cleaning chemicals. You are always required to utilize all required PPE. Other responsibilities include performing assigned duties, attending training sessions, working overtime as required, following GHP and GMP, and working towards attaining and maintaining GFSI & BRC certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Check schedules to see that the correct product is run, and product is directed to the correct line for packaging
  • Change processing machines (fryers) over to different cuts, when necessary
  • Routinely change knives to ensure product is of the highest quality
  • Monitor settings and make changes and adjustments, when necessary
  • Continuously check quality test readings for salt levels, moisture levels, oil absorption levels, defects, breakage, and color
  • Run samples on incoming potato loads
  • Fill and monitor salt application machinery
  • Perform minor maintenance on all systems
  • Keep areas neat, clean, orderly, and safe
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork and checklist
  • Keep open lines of communication with fellow departments, maintenance, production, QA, and supervision
  • Keep track of and report all maintenance required to be performed after weekly shutdown
  • Perform weekly cleaning on fryers and surrounding areas
  • Work with cleaning chemicals
  • Always utilize all required PPE
  • Perform any added duties as assigned by supervision
  • Attend required training sessions
  • Work overtime as required
  • Follow GHP (Good Housekeeping Practices), as well as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
