The Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) is a Washington, DC-based nonpartisan research institute focusing on national security and foreign policy. FDD conducts in-depth research, produces accurate and timely analyses, identifies illicit activities, and provides policy options – all with the aim of strengthening U.S. national security and reducing or eliminating threats posed by adversaries and enemies of the United States and other free nations. FDD does not accept donations from any foreign governments. The China Research Program is seeking a part or full-time intern. The role will provide an opportunity to work closely with FDD Senior Fellow Craig Singleton as well as other members of the research team analyzing Chinese primary sources and perspectives on the Chinese Communist Party's approach to military, economic, and diplomatic competition. Research tasks will cover primary source data collection, literature reviews, and analysis of China's competitive orientation toward the United States and US allies and partners globally. Those with an interest in China, East Asia, and the intersection of national security and economic affairs are strongly encouraged to apply. The China Research Program is looking for interns with empirical research experience, strong writing capabilities and/or data analysis expertise.
