About The Position

The CHILLERS Rehanger position is responsible for picking up and hanging birds on a production line, visually inspecting them for defects, and downgrading any birds with defects. This role requires standing on a metal platform for up to 8 hours in a cool environment and involves maintaining continuous product flow, relieving team members for breaks, and performing various production tasks. The position also requires adherence to strict hygiene, sanitation, food safety, and quality standards, as well as compliance with all Tyson policies and OSHA regulations. The role is critical for ensuring consistent production flow and operational flexibility in a fresh food manufacturing environment.

Previous manufacturing or fresh food production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

From a standing position, pick up and hang birds approx. 3.5-6 pounds by both legs in shackles shoulder height, 16 inches from the body, approx. 5 per minute.
Visually inspect birds for any defects.
Use of both hands and arms required.
Must stand on metal platform for up to 8 hours.
Must be able to tolerate cool environments.
Downgrade birds with defects; place in appropriate containers for further processing.
Maintain continuous product flow on production lines to support efficiency and throughput.
Relieve Team Members on the production line for breaks, lunches, and absences.
Fill in for open positions during labor shortages to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Perform multiple production tasks as assigned, including but not limited to packing, sorting, staging, and material handling.
Assist with product movement between production areas to prevent downtime or congestion.
Monitor work areas to ensure product quality, food safety, and sanitation standards are met.
Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to fresh product handling.
Assist supervisors by responding quickly to changing production needs.
Identify and report safety hazards, equipment issues, or product concerns immediately.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of production areas, tools, and equipment.
Comply with all Tyson policies, OSHA regulations, USDA requirements, and food safety guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned to support production and operational goals.
