About The Position

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical components/equipment. This role involves maintaining the safe operation of highly complex systems and equipment. Specific systems may include electronic/pneumatic controls, environmental controls, fan powered boxes, and auxiliary equipment such as various pumps, heat exchangers, and air compressors. The technician will work with BAS controls, chiller operations, pump operations, water treatment programs, air handler units, and VAVs.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read blueprints and as-built drawings.
  • Be able to solve problems.
  • Plan work and select proper tools.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
  • Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts inspections, maintenance, repairs, and service on a variety of chiller systems, including air-cooled, water-cooled, and centrifugal chillers.
  • Operates, troubleshoots, and maintains complex chiller equipment while diagnosing and resolving mechanical and operational issues.
  • Performs complete equipment overhauls, system evaluations, and root-cause diagnostics.
  • Diagnoses, services, maintains, and repairs a wide range of HVAC and mechanical equipment, including air-cooled chillers (reciprocating, screw, and scroll) up to 100 tons, large water-cooled chiller systems, cooling towers, pumps and pumping systems, air compressors, compressed air dryers, Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), and air handling units (AHU).
