About The Position

Kelso Industries is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Technician/Chiller Technician to join its service team. The role involves complex diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, and system optimization across commercial and industrial facilities. The successful candidate will bring strong technical ability, a safety-first mindset, and a record of delivering quality service.

Requirements

EPA 608 Universal Certification.
At least 5 years of commercial HVAC experience.
Strong electrical troubleshooting capability across low- and high-voltage systems.
Ability to work independently with limited oversight.
Valid driver's license in good standing.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in mechanical rooms, on rooftops, and in confined spaces.

Nice To Haves

Experience with BAS/DDC controls platforms.
Factory certifications or formal training on major chiller manufacturers.
Hands-on controls programming or commissioning experience.
Prior experience in hospitals, industrial plants, or large-scale commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC equipment.
Commission and start up chiller and controls systems, optimizing them for efficiency.
Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on chillers, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, and supporting equipment.
Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
Document service work, repairs, and recommendations accurately and promptly.
Communicate system conditions, findings, and next steps to customers.
Follow safety requirements, EPA standards, and company policies.
Guide and mentor apprentices and junior technicians when applicable.
