About The Position

The Childwatch Coordinator provides daily leadership and operational oversight for the Childwatch program. This role ensures a safe, engaging, and well supervised environment for children while supporting and guiding Childwatch staff. The Coordinator reports directly to the Associate Executive Director and assumes responsibility for day-to-day supervision. In addition, every position in the YMCA of Greater Montgomery is responsible for upholding our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Requirements

One year experience working in Childwatch with YMCA
Must have required certifications, including CPR/First Aid, Praesidium training & Autism Awareness.

Responsibilities

Create and manage the weekly Childwatch staff schedule for both AM/PM shifts.
Coordinate shift swaps, call ins, and coverage needed to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
Communicate staffing updates and hiring needs promptly to the Associate Executive Director.
Maintain and oversee the Childwatch GroupMe.
Ensure the Childwatch room is clean, safe, and welcoming at all times.
Monitor supply levels (crayons, wipes, toys, etc.) and communicate needs to the supervisor for purchasing.
Report any broken equipment, safety concerns, or repair needs to the direct supervisor immediately.
Help enforce Childwatch employee rules, expectations, and standards of conduct.
Address minor staff concerns or performance issues; escalate unresolved matters to the Associate Executive Director.
Support training of new Childwatch staff as needed.
Ensure all safety procedures, supervision standards, and YMCA policies are consistently followed.
Oversee completion and accuracy of incident reports; submit all reports to the Associate Executive Director.
Maintain a positive, professional presence in the Childwatch area and model YMCA core values.
Maintain required certifications, including CPR/First Aid, Praesidium training & Autism Awareness.
