ChildWatch Counselor
About The Position
The Greater Waco YMCA is seeking an energetic, responsible, team-oriented individual to provide a fun and safe atmosphere in our ChildWatch area for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. We are offering a $260 bonus for new employees! We are a not-for-profit services Association focusing on mission-driven initiatives, with a vision of building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities throughout 7 Texas Counties. Our organization is home to the largest school-age child care provider in Williamson County as well as health and fitness programs that improve the quality of life for over 45,000 members ranging from preschool through senior citizens.
Requirements
- Applicant must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must be certified in CPR and First Aid within first 30 days of employment.
- Individual must be able to pass reference check, pre-employment drug screen, sex-offender check, and criminal history check.
Responsibilities
- Nurtures children through purposeful activities dedicated to building relationships with each child.
- Supervise children in the Child Watch classroom, game room and all activities appropriately.
- Follows all procedures and standards for maintaining a safe environment.
- Makes ongoing observations of the children and has the ability to maneuver from one location to another quickly and easily.
- Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents.
- Maintains program site and equipment in an orderly manner.
- Maintains required program records.
- Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities.
