About The Position

The MS Therapist - Licensed at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing comprehensive mental health therapy to individuals, groups, and families. The role involves assessing clients' mental health needs, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to promote mental well-being and recovery.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Mental Health Counselor, Clinical Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience in a clinical setting providing therapy to individuals with mental health disorders.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
  • Strong therapeutic skills in individual, group, and family therapy modalities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and provide accurate diagnoses.
  • Proficiency in maintaining detailed and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions.
  • Competence in using electronic health records and other relevant software applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in working with individuals diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) or other chronic illnesses is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health status and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals, groups, and families.
  • Monitor and document clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions and coping strategies.
  • Advocate for clients' needs within the healthcare system and community resources.
  • Stay updated with the latest research and developments in mental health therapy practices.
