About The Position

Create unforgettable first experiences on snow. As a Children’s Ski & Ride School Instructor, you will teach skiing or snowboarding to children ages 4–12 in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. You’ll help students build confidence, develop fundamental skills, and foster a lifelong love of snowsports, all while being part of a high-energy, team-oriented program. This role is ideal for both new and experienced instructors who enjoy working with children and want to grow their teaching, skiing/riding, and leadership skills. At Mt. Requirements

  • 16+ years of age
  • Intermediate ski or snowboard ability (green and blue runs)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Must pass background check
  • Must provide own professionally tuned and manufacturer-certified alpine skis/ board, bindings, and boots.
  • Must work holiday periods: Nov 26–30 | Dec 19–Jan 4 | Jan 16-18 | Feb 13-15
  • Must be able to work at least 2+ days/week
  • Must be able to work 20+ shifts minimum throughout season

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children
  • Prior instruction or coaching experience
  • PSIA/AASI certification

Responsibilities

  • Teach beginner to advanced lessons in a fun, safe, and engaging way
  • Support student safety, comfort, and confidence
  • Communicate with parents and team members professionally
  • Assist with class organization, setup, and daily operations
  • Participate in training and continue skill development
  • Must maintain a current SafeSport certification or complete SafeSport training by the assigned deadline (paid for by the employer)
  • Follow and understand policies and procedures
  • Assist in Course registration as needed
  • Teach Children’s Ski & Ride School lessons as assigned
  • Observe all applicable safety standards
  • Assist in general operation of all Children’s Ski & Ride School activity
  • Coordinate and cooperate with other departments as necessary in the completion of the above essential duties
  • Provide information and answer questions about the resort to resort guests
  • Set up and take down of Ski School staging areas
  • Shovel/snow removal as needed
  • Operation of conveyor belts
  • Complete all required paperwork: Class cards, time sheets, incident reports etc.
  • Attend assigned trainings
  • Assist in preparing lesson plans for upcoming lessons
  • Performs other related tasks as necessary
