About The Position

RIDGEVIEW Behavioral Health Services, a not-for-profit community mental health center based in Oak Ridge, TN, has an opening for a part-time Bachelor’s Level Children's Respite Consultant to provide services through the Respite Rocks! program. This hands-on position is suitable for a new graduate or early career social worker/ counselor. Requirements

BS/BA in Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field.
Valid driver’s license with “for hire” endorsement, and an acceptable motor vehicle record and background screening.
Minimum of one year experience working with children, youth, and/or families.
Capable of establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with children, youth, families, and referral sources.
Interpersonal skills for relating to seriously emotionally disturbed youth.

Responsibilities

Delivery of the grant-funded planned respite program to families of children with serious emotional disturbance, Autism, or serious behavior disorders.
Provision of immediate respite for families.
Assistance in the development of a long-term respite strategy for each family.
Training of caregivers in behavior management skills.
Services provided in a belief that respite programming enables the maintenance of the family structure and prevents the placement of children outside the home.
