About The Position

The Children’s Pastor provides visionary leadership for Central Kids by leading a healthy ministry that intentionally Reaches, Connects, Disciples, and Sends children and families. This role equips parents as the primary disciple makers of their children, develops leaders for ministry, and partners with the Next Gen team to create a seamless pathway of discipleship from birth through college. Central Baptist Church - Jonesboro is a vibrant church in Jonesboro, Arkansas, with a rich history dating back to 1931. Central is passionate about helping people meet Jesus, grow in their faith, build meaningful community, and live on mission for the Gospel. With a strong emphasis on biblical teaching, contemporary worship, discipleship, missions, and ministry to every generation, Central provides opportunities for children, students, college students, adults, and families to grow together in Christ. The church’s vision is to join Jesus in reaching more people and leading them into a growing relationship with Him, creating a welcoming environment where people can be authentic, discover their gifts, and use them for God’s glory.   • Providing regular coaching, feedback, evaluation, and ministry opportunities for staff, residents, and interns

Responsibilities

  • Lead Central Kids in fulfilling the church's mission by creating a ministry that intentionally Reaches, Connects, Disciples, and Sends children and families
  • Provide vision, leadership, planning, oversight, and evaluation for all aspects of Central Kids, ensuring alignment with the mission, vision, values, and philosophy of Central Baptist Church
  • Develop strategic goals and ministry initiatives that continually improve the effectiveness, health, and long-term sustainability of Central Kids
  • Regularly evaluate ministry effectiveness, health, systems, volunteer engagement, and discipleship outcomes while implementing improvements that advance the mission of Central Kids
  • Collaborate with Preschool, Student, College, and Next Gen leadership to create a seamless discipleship pathway from birth through college
  • Champion a family-equipping philosophy that recognizes parents as the primary disciple-makers of their children by providing intentional training, resources, milestones, and opportunities that strengthen discipleship in the home
  • Recruit, develop, shepherd, empower, and multiply volunteer leaders to embrace the mission, vision, and values of Central Kids
  • Create intentional leadership pathways that move interns to residents and residents toward vocational ministry
  • Provide regular coaching, feedback, evaluation, and ministry opportunities for other Children’s Ministry full-time staff members as well as residents and interns as they grow in character, competency, conviction, and calling
