About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising and caring for children while providing a safe environment for all children and any other workers and volunteers. The role requires a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, agreement with the church's purpose and values, and a lifestyle appropriate for Christian ministry. The worker will be part of the church community and attend weekend services. Skills in relating to people, especially volunteers and staff, are essential. The position involves managing personal life to model teachings, abiding by the staff handbook, and signing the Crossroads Statement of Faith. The worker must be able to stand and speak clearly for extended periods, maintain high energy and a positive disposition, work in teams, and serve as a positive team player. A pre-employment background screening is required. Physical requirements include picking up toys, moving tables and chairs, and lifting young children as needed.

Manages personal and family life in such a way they model the teachings of God’s Word.
Agrees to abide by the staff handbook and sign the Crossroads Statement of Faith.
Able to stand and speak clearly for extended time periods; maintain a high level of energy and a positive disposition; and work in teams achieving short and long range goals.
Serve as a productive and positive team player with the staff.
Must pass the pre-employment background screening.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 months of child ministry experience; 2 years+ preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist Lead Workers in providing high quality supervision of learning and play, while seeing to the welfare of the children (ages 6 months to 12 years).
Assist Lead Workers in teaching provided structured activities and Bible-based curriculum consistent with church values and mission.
Engage with children in age-appropriate play, ensuring each child is included.
Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment and classroom.
Maintain a clean, hygienic, well-groomed appearance and dress modestly.
Interact with parents and children in a positive, friendly, and consistent manner.
Check children in and out according to safety and policy protocols.
Immediately communicate concerns about children's welfare, needs, or safety to the Lead Worker(s), Early Learning Coordinator, and/or Children's Ministry Director.
Be attentive to the safety of children and fellow workers.
Assist in cleaning the area at the end of the work shift as directed by the Lead Worker(s), including toys, furniture, and Camp specific spaces/items.
Perform other duties as assigned.
