About The Position

Under the general direction of the Program Manager, provides direct supervision to Care Managers, including individual coaching as well as support to the whole program. The ability to build strong working relationships with staff while maintaining accountability is key. The Supervisor will be responsible to resolve critical concerns with clients, families, and teams, and develop performance improvement plans if needed. The Supervisor will also be responsible for day-to-day administrative work within the program, including compliance checks and database entry. The Supervisor carries out all job responsibilities with fidelity and accountability to the Agency’s Mission, Vision, Values, Guiding Principles and Strategic Plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, or equivalent experience in lieu of education desired
  • Four years’ experience working with children and families who have struggled with Mental Health issues.
  • Related leadership experience.
  • A knowledge of Health Homes Care Management
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with staff and service providers.
  • Ability to engage, plan, communicate and understand youth and families.
  • Ability to resolve critical concerns with clients, families, and teams in a respectful manner.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly monitors staff adherence to the Program/Agency standards, and ensures documentation/policy requirements are being followed.
  • Assures that program service delivery is in full compliance with Federal and State law and regulations.
  • Evaluates the documentation quality of direct reports, as well as overall performance of job responsibilities.
  • Provides strength-based supervision and support, while still promoting accountability and independence.
  • Is consistently supportive, encouraging, patient and positive when working with the Team.
  • Is driven for growth and change, and is creative, flexible and collaborative.
  • Availability to support staff during working hours in-office (9am-5pm), and provide crisis back-up for staff 24/7 per on-call regulations.
  • Serves as an expert coach and facilitator for high needs or complex cases, and provides in-person support for clients/families/teams.
  • Addresses concerns from families and outside providers in a respectful and supportive manner, and adheres to the grievance procedure.
  • Promotes growth and expansion of the program through creativity and innovation.
  • Recognizes and embraces the diversity of teams, and develops the strengths of each individual team member.
  • Demonstrates, promotes and practices cultural competency toward clients and staff through respect and understanding.
  • Consistently maintains positive relationships with staff and other service providers in the community.
  • Approves ADP timecards, time off requests, and Company Mileage requests, and ensures accuracy.
  • Supports the Program Manager with various projects and administrative responsibilities.
  • Supports regular and comprehensive training to staff that ensures skill development across all performance competencies areas.
  • Participates in developing and implementing continuous quality improvement strategies within the program and the agency.
  • Remains current in the field, and supports best practice models within the program.
  • Participates in ongoing training and professional development provided by the agency.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license in good standing and has use of an automobile.
  • Ability to work evening hours as needed.
