About The Position

The Children's Area Associate provides child care services in a safe, caring, secure, and effective manner. The role involves age-appropriate interactions, play activities, and experiences for children within the determined age range at Chelsea Wellness Center, managed by Power Wellness Management. The position is part-time.

Requirements

CPR/AED certification is required within 90 days of hire; certification is provided by Power Wellness.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with members in a positive, service-based manner.
Ability to multitask and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor.
Proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One-year certificate from a college or technical school preferred.
Minimum six months of related child care experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet children and parents positively, and monitor adults' and children's entry to and exit from the secured child care area according to center policy.
Lead daily crafts and activities for children of all age and skill levels and provide positive, age-appropriate interactions.
Know and enforce the Center’s child care policies to ensure a safe environment for children.
Provide parents and children with a comfortable, safe, and secure environment in a friendly setting.
Respond to parents’ feedback, concerns, and questions about child care, following up with a supervisor for support as needed.
Lift and carry infants and toddlers.
Be flexible and accommodating regarding center hours and work schedules.
Meet all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties.
Demonstrate knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and confidence communicating with EMS.
Perform other duties as assigned.
