About The Position

The Children's Area Associate provides child care services in a safe, caring, secure, and effective manner. The role involves age-appropriate interactions, play activities, and experiences for children within the designated age range at Mercy HealthPlex Anderson. The facility is managed by Power Wellness Management, which specializes in managing medically integrated health and fitness centers.

Requirements

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with members in a positive, service-based manner.
Ability to multitask and maintain a controlled, professional demeanor.
Proficient computer skills.
CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire; provided by Power Wellness.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One-year certificate from a college or technical school preferred.
At least six months of related child care experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet children and parents positively and monitor adults’ and children’s entry to and exit from the secured child care area in accordance with center policy.
Lead daily crafts and activities for children of all age and skill levels and provide positive, age-appropriate interactions.
Know and enforce the center’s child care policies to help ensure a safe environment.
Provide parents and children with a comfortable, safe, and secure environment in a friendly setting.
Respond receptively to parents’ feedback, concerns, and questions about child care, following up with a supervisor for support as needed.
Lift and carry infants and toddlers.
Be flexible and accommodating regarding center hours and work schedules.
Meet all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties.
Know emergency and safety procedures and communicate confidently with EMS.
Perform other duties as assigned.
