About The Position
Northstar Preschools at Clear Lake is seeking nurturing, dependable, and energetic Childcare Teachers for our Infant, Toddler, and Two-Year-Old classrooms to join our team. Ideal candidates are passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating a safe, loving, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and develop essential skills.
Requirements
- Must be nurturing, patient, dependable, and passionate about working with young children.
- Must be comfortable with diapering, feeding, toileting, and other age-appropriate caregiving responsibilities.
- Must be able to lift, carry, bend, squat, and actively supervise children throughout the day.
- Must work effectively as part of a classroom team.
- Must meet all applicable Texas Child Care Licensing and center employment requirements.
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification as required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with infants, toddlers, or two-year-olds preferred.
- Previous childcare or early childhood education experience preferred.
- CDA or early childhood education coursework is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for infants, toddlers, and two-year-olds.
- Provide responsive, individualized care based on each child's developmental needs.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including sensory play, music, movement, reading, and hands-on learning.
- Maintain consistent daily routines, including feeding, diapering, toileting, rest, and transitions.
- Practice active supervision and maintain appropriate teacher-to-child ratios at all times.
- Use positive guidance and redirection to support children's social and emotional development.
- Encourage independence, communication, and age-appropriate self-help skills.
- Observe and document children's developmental progress.
- Complete required daily reports, lesson plans, and classroom documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom.
- Communicate professionally with families about their children's daily experiences and developmental progress.
- Collaborate with co-teachers and the administrative team.
- Follow all Northstar Preschools policies and Texas Child Care Licensing requirements.
