About The Position

Child Serve is seeking a caring and energetic Childcare Teacher Assistant to help provide a positive, nurturing environment that is safe, clean, and organized for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. The role supports children’s overall development through appropriate play-based activities and collaboration with families. The position offers flexible hours during the center’s operating hours, Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The starting pay is $13.50 per hour. Full-time opportunities are also available.

Requirements

• Meet health and safety requirements, including passing a Child Serve physical exam and adhering to applicable COVID-19 protocols.
• Be able to lift up to 35 pounds, remain mobile in classroom and playground environments, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Obtain First Aid, CPR, Mandatory Reporter, Standard Precautions, and DHS Pre-Service Essential Training certifications within 90 days of hire.
• Communicate effectively in spoken and written English and read English.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience providing care and supervision for children.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine care for infants and children, including diapering and personal care, hygiene support, hand washing, and serving meals and snacks.
• Maintain a safe environment through constant supervision, adherence to staff-to-child ratios, accurate name-to-face attendance, and regular assessment of children’s general health, reporting concerns promptly.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and structured indoor and outdoor environment by using Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) strategies.
• Provide exceptional customer service to families.
• Complete required documentation accurately and by established deadlines.
• Arrive on time and participate in required training sessions, staff meetings, and annual professional development.
