About The Position

The Childcare Provider 2 position assists the Childcare Specialist with the planning of the before and after school program and the supervision of children. This role involves establishing rapport with students, employees, and the community, preparing the site and activities, and ensuring constant supervision of children. The provider will administer first aid when necessary, maintain acceptable behavior standards consistent with district and program policy, and keep the Childcare Specialist informed of student activities. Responsibilities also include participating in clean-up activities and completing a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training annually per Department of Health Services regulations. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Must meet the staff qualifications to be a teacher-caregiver under section R9-5-401 of the Arizona Administrative Code.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Provide written documentation of one of the following: A high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and six months of qualifying child care experience; OR At least 12 credit hours from an accredited college or university including at least 6 credits in early childhood education and 6 months qualifying childcare experience; OR N.A.C., C.D.A., C.C.P., or C.P.C. credential; or Associate or bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in the areas of early childhood, child development or closely related field.
  • Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC).
  • Background in early childhood education or related fields.
  • Hold current first aid and CPR certification or be able to obtain within 30 days.
  • Effective communication skills.

  • Share and participate in clean up activities.
  • Annually complete a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training per department of Health Services regulations.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.
