About The Position

This position serves as an At-Risk Specialist for Millsap Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. The specialist will coach campus and district staff in the implementation of behavioral strategies and interventions to promote positive student behavior. This role involves assisting teachers with developing structured teaching strategies, creating behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and behavioral goals, and developing individual programs for students with behavioral concerns. The specialist will also support staff in collecting and monitoring IEP data, provide direct support for students with chronic behavioral needs, and conduct district-wide staff development. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university
  • Texas certification in special education

  • Master’s Degree from a recognized, accredited, college or university
  • Texas certification in elementary or secondary education
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience as a certified special education teacher
  • Demonstrated skill in leading, motivating, coaching, and collaborating with teachers

Responsibilities
