About The Position

LSI seeks a Childcare Business Specialist for Immigrant and Refugee Community Services in Sioux City. This role is responsible for supporting refugee child care providers through language-appropriate training and skill development. The Child Care Business Specialist will provide services to clients in both classroom and in-home settings, coordinate interpreted trainings, and manage attendance tracking. The specialist will also coordinate classes related to home safety and DHS regulations for child care. Home visiting will involve supporting child care providers in meeting DHS health and safety requirements, business development, quality improvements, and other community referrals as needed. Additionally, the specialist will provide administrative support to child care providers regarding DHS registration, timesheets, paperwork, mail, business operations, and other information related to child care registration. The Child Care Business Specialist will ensure providers adhere to the DHS child care registration process, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in a human service related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of early childhood or childcare experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Auto insurance.
  • Good driving record.
  • Ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree in a human service related field.
  • 1 year of experience in early childhood or childcare services.
  • Experience with DHS rules and regulations for child care providers.
  • Experience or knowledge of small business operations.

Responsibilities
