About The Position

The Child Care Specialist provides services for the children of the families residing at Anthony House. A successful Child Care Specialist is someone who has a high level of patience and tolerance for frustration. Initiative, dependability and accuracy are important. The ability to analyze situations and manage them in a proactive manner is helpful with a desire and ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Demonstrated experience in managing child behavior and resolving conflicts in a constructive manner.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience working with children or CDA certificate and at least one (1) year experience working with children
  • Strong understanding of child development stages and the ability to tailor activities to meet the developmental needs of children.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to create a safe and nurturing environment that fosters learning and development.
  • Proficiency in observing and documenting children's progress and communicating this effectively to parents and guardians.
  • Skills in crisis management and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team to support the overall goals of the childcare program.
  • The ability to comply with the regulations requiring a workplace of dignity and respect and equal employment opportunity compliance.
  • Knowledge of behavior philosophies and best practices in the field of child development and behavior are necessary.
  • Must demonstrate competence in working with young children.
  • Must have knowledge of early childhood developmental stages and be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with the families and children.
  • Must possess good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor the safety of children in their care, organize mealtimes and snacks for children, help children keep good hygiene; change the diapers of infants and toddler.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of the facility including cleaning bathroom, playroom, and laundry.
  • Collaborate with other childcare specialists and staff to ensure consistency and quality in childcare services.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance childcare skills and knowledge.
