About The Position

Big Blue Marble Academy is seeking an Early Child Care Assistant Teacher to help create a safe, supportive classroom and nurture children’s development. The role works alongside a Lead Teacher to facilitate daily activities, support families, document children’s milestones using electronic tracking, and follow enhanced safety guidelines. The academy describes its workplace as a team-oriented, inclusive, family-feel environment and offers on-the-job training and opportunities to advance from Assistant Teacher to Center Director.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Must be able to obtain and maintain required DCF training and credentials within required timeframes.
Demonstrated experience working with children.
Able to stand for six to eight hours daily and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and bend while working with children.
Able to lift at least 30 pounds.
Able to visually supervise children at all times.
Employment is contingent on successful completion of a background check, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding processes.

Nice To Haves

Child care, daycare, or preschool experience preferred.
Early childhood coursework, a CDA, or a degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Work with the Lead Teacher to facilitate daily activities and help ensure the classroom runs smoothly.
Partner with families to nurture and care for their children.
Use electronic daily tracking to document children’s milestones.
Follow enhanced safety guidelines and keep the classroom clean and safe.
Visually supervise children at all times.
