About The Position

The Childcare Teacher Assistant supports the lead teacher in caring for and educating children from 6 weeks old through kindergarten age. The assistant helps carry out curriculum and daily activities, maintain classroom routines, support children’s development and conflict management, and keep the classroom safe, clean, and healthy. The role offers flexible scheduling, training and development opportunities, and room for growth within the company. Compensation is $18–$19 per hour, based on experience and certifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management.
• Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, and ability to follow them closely.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Energetic and positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a Teacher’s Assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in carrying out the curriculum and short- and long-term goals.
• Maintain a consistent daily routine, including classroom structures, mealtimes, physical play, nap time, and outdoor play.
• Help manage conflicts between children and teach them skills they are still learning.
• Communicate positively and openly with coworkers and build respectful partnerships.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and staff, including cleaning throughout the day.
