About The Position
Join our team at the Gravenhurst YMCA Simcoe/Muskoka as a Child and Youth Program Instructor and be part of a journey of fun and growth! We are all about creating a safe and exciting environment for children, youth, and families while delivering top-notch, values-based programs and services. In this role, you will deliver structured programs for children and youth, with the ability to modify programs to meet the age-appropriate and developmental needs of all participants. You will also coach and appropriately supervise children during scheduled programs, communicate with all participants and their caregivers, members, staff and volunteers, and maintain records as needed, including attendance sheets, program area maintenance items and daily checklists. You will work as part of a team to ensure a clean and well maintained facility at all times.
Requirements
- A positive enthusiastic attitude
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Standard First Aid/CPR Certification ‘C’
- Clear Police Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Must be able to work flexible hours based program needs
- Willingness to participate in mandated training to be completed before or shortly after commencement of work including: AODA Training, Health & Safety Awareness Training, Bill 168 (Violence & Harassment in the Workplace) Training, PCI Compliance, WHMIS, Child Safeguarding Training
Nice To Haves
- Healthy Child Development training or experience working with children in a recreational setting is an asset
