Carver County is seeking a dynamic candidate for a temporary vacancy in its Child and Family unit. This role will support the Foster Care Licensing team and other child welfare programs, including communication with foster care providers, assisting with the relicensing process, and supporting child foster care recruitment. The position will utilize Signs of Safety and Family Finding methods to aid child protection and mental health social workers in finding placement options and supports for children. Additional duties may include supervising family visits, processing records requests, and transporting clients. With approval, the position may be extended from January 2027 to early April 2027 as a Child Protection Assessment Social Worker, focusing on maltreatment assessments, investigations, safety assessments, and planning for children's well-being, in collaboration with internal and external professionals. The position is approximately 30 hours per week, with flexible hours between 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and potential for some evening or weekend work for special events.
