About The Position

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking a talented Child Welfare Assistant Program Director to make an impact in the lives of others. This role will serve clients in Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton counties. The Assistant Program Director will support the mission and purpose of the Child Welfare Case Management Organization program. They will assist the CMO Program Director in ensuring performance and contractual benchmarks, provide direction to Child Welfare Case Managers and Supervisors in designated units, develop and enhance community relations, attend community meetings as directed, and oversee PQI and accreditation processes. The role is responsible for meeting contractual performance and ensuring the safety, well-being, and permanency of children served. This position requires an active Child Welfare certification, with limited exceptions for out-of-state equivalent experience. Direct, hands-on child welfare experience is mandatory; adjacent experience will not be considered. Misrepresentation of credentials will result in immediate disqualification.

Requirements

• Must have an active Child Welfare certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services is required.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience.
• Must have 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Must possess demonstrated leadership and administrative abilities.
• Must be able to interpret statistics in order to monitor contract performance.
• Must be able to establish effective working relationships with agency staff and with outside service providers.
• Must be effective at communicating at all levels.
• Must demonstrate sensitivity to our services population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
• Direct, hands-on child welfare experience is mandatory. Adjacent experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Monitors daily operation of assigned Child Welfare Case Management units to assure client safety and case management progression toward agency’s contract goals.
• Identifies cases of special interest or increased risk, and arranges for staffing's with Child Welfare Case Manager, Supervisor and Program Director.
• Reviews random samples of case files and Home SafeNet notes from each assigned unit to determine effectiveness of services and quality of documentation.
• Meets with each assigned Supervisor at least once every 2 months to review cases, and to assure Supervisor’s compliance with bi-monthly one-on-one supervision of Case Managers.
• Meets regularly with Program Director to review cases.
• Participates with Program Director and Supervisor of Quality Assurance in formulation of agency policies, and with agency CQI activities.
• Attends staffing's and meetings as required.
• Is available by cell phone 24 hours 7 days per week unless on agency approved leave.
• Performs written employee evaluations for all assigned Case Manager Supervisors.
• Responds to staff and clients to ameliorate problems.
• Participates in recruitment, hiring and training of new employees.
• Performs other duties required to meet this program's goals.
