About The Position

This position is responsible for the administration of the Child Support Enforcement (CSE) program within the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Division of Family Support. The goal of CSE is to ensure that parents fulfill their obligation to provide financial and medical support for their child/children. The incumbent in this position will also provide direct supervision over a unit of professional social services staff that provides customer service in the CSE program. This vacancy is located in the Caddo Parish Child Support Enforcement Office in Shreveport, LA.

Requirements

• Six years of experience in child support enforcement; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in child support enforcement; OR A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in child support enforcement; OR A master's degree plus two years of experience in child support enforcement.
• Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the maintenance of acceptable standards for assigned child support enforcement program(s).
• Assumes lead responsibility for the conciliation procedure to resolve disputes related to an individual's participation in their assigned program; interviews complainants and investigates for resolution.
• Prepares required reports relative to assigned unit activities, reviews and analyzes records for quality assurance, and compiles data and statistical information for written reports.
• Orients staff in all areas of staff development functions; conducts individual and group conferences with staff to increase their skill and efficiency.
• Maintains working relationships with local, state, and federal agencies both in the public and private sector.
