About The Position

This position reviews federal and state laws, regulations, policies, and legislation to determine their impact on the program and assists management with implementing required changes and maintaining compliance. Additionally, the CSE Specialist supports federal audits, including Data Reliability Audits, by coordinating documentation and assisting auditors in verifying that information maintained in CSE systems is accurate and reliable. Requirements

  • Five years of experience in child support enforcement
  • OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in child support enforcement
  • OR A bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in child support enforcement
  • OR A master’s degree plus one year of experience in child support enforcement
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews federal and state laws, regulations, policies, and legislation to determine their impact on the program and assists management with implementing required changes and maintaining compliance.
  • Supports federal audits, including Data Reliability Audits, by coordinating documentation and assisting auditors in verifying that information maintained in CSE systems is accurate and reliable.
  • Serves as the initial point of contact for initiating and responding to intergovernmental child support requests received by the department through mail, fax, electronic mail, or the Electronic Document Exchange.
  • Makes initial determination of which service is necessary for each incoming case.
  • Answers requests for information and resolves complaints by phone, email, and correspondence from custodial and non-custodial parents, state agencies, employers, public officials, the general public, law enforcement officials, and others.
  • Serves as the contact person for the Louisiana Central Registry and State Administrator for contacts available on the Federal Intergovernmental Referral Guide.
  • Images individual initiating interstate packets that are received and processes them electronically.
  • Serves as backup for all other interstate corresponding processing.
