Child Protection Social Worker

About The Position
Under direction, provides professional social services to a variety of children, adult, and family clients. Provides ongoing case management services. Performs intake responsibilities on a rotating basis. Required to participate in an informal on-call system. Typical schedule is 37.5 hours/week; however, additional hours may be required but vary per workload demands. Remote work option after one year of service and upon application and approval.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in social work, psychology, sociology or closely related field, OR a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in any field and one year of experience as a social worker in a public or private social services agency.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must complete Foundations Training.
- Must attend continuing education courses as appropriate.
- Word processing and spreadsheet competency required.
- Willingness to learn additional software as needed for the position is required.
- Ability to communicate with the public, vulnerable adults, disabled children, other county employees, law enforcement and school personnel, medical and mental health professionals, attorneys, court and various other service providers.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and implement appropriate responses.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
