Under the supervision of the Child Nutrition Kitchen Manager, the Child Nutrition Worker performs routine manual tasks in the preparation and serving of food, and in cleaning and maintaining food service areas. This role involves cooperating with the kitchen manager to provide a positive experience for students, parents, and faculty, preparing food according to recipes, serving food in compliance with regulations, cleaning equipment and work areas, washing dishes, operating mechanical equipment safely, following work schedules, practicing acceptable health and work habits, attending in-service training, reporting supply needs and equipment malfunctions, and attending work regularly. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with supplemental coursework and training in food service operations. Key abilities include following instructions, preparing large quantities of food, operating equipment safely, making calculations, and establishing effective working relationships. Physical requirements include standing for prolonged periods, handling cooking tools, operating kitchen appliances, and lifting/carrying heavy items up to 40 lbs. Daily cleanup duties are also a requirement.
