About The Position
Responsible for loading food carts onto delivery truck, delivering food to elementary cafeterias as assigned, serving lunch to students at the last delivery run, returning to each school to pick up carts and return them to the Central Kitchen, and assisting with unloading carts. This role also involves cleaning carts and the delivery truck, assisting in washing pots and pans at the Central Kitchen, maintaining personal appearance and hygiene, following safety and sanitation rules, completing daily truck inspections, and performing other duties as assigned. The position requires basic technology/computer skills for accessing district programs and emails, maintaining a professional demeanor, and ensuring compliance with the Texas Educator’s Code of Ethics. Daily attendance and punctuality are essential.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas Driver’s License, a good driving record, and proof of insurance on vehicle used to travel to district
- Food Handlers Certificate required (certificate to be obtained within 7 days of employment)
- Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
- Ability to understand safety instructions
- Ability to be punctual and dependable
- Must be able to understand instructions and communicate in basic English
- Requires a basic knowledge of technology/computer skills
- Ability to read, concentrate, communicate effectively (verbally and written), interpret, reason, understand verbal instructions, memorize, coordinate, compile, compute, analyze, differentiate
- Work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress
