About The Position

The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a child neurologist with subspecialty training in pediatric movement disorders interested in pursuing an academic career and joining our expanding Pediatric Neurology and Comprehensive Epilepsy Programs at UW Hospital and Clinics, American Family Children's Hospital and affiliated locations. This position includes opportunities for teaching and research. This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location. Applicants for this position will be considered for the following titles: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years. This position will be a dual appointment with UW Madison and UW Medical Foundation.

Requirements

  • Must have completed a child neurology residency program.
  • Pediatric movement disorders fellowship training or equivalent experience required.
  • Candidates must be board eligible or board certified by the start date in one of the following: American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP) with special qualifications in child neurology.
  • Must have a WI medical license by the start date.
  • MD or DO or equivalent is required by the start date.

  • Candidates for Associate Professor or Professor must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the Tenure track.

Responsibilities

  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in professional, public, and university service appropriate to the rank and in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of the School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health.
  • Work in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
  • Attend duties in pediatric neurology clinics and on inpatient services at the University Hospital and the American Family Children's hospital at the University of Wisconsin, Unity Point Meriter Hospital and affiliated regional hospitals and clinics.
  • Provide treatment and neuromodulation procedures for pediatric movement disorders patients.
