About The Position

The Child Life Specialist plans and implements a Child Life program which is focused upon the emotional and developmental needs of the hospitalized child, adolescent, and family. S/he works with members of the medical, nursing, social service, Chaplaincy, and Volunteer Services staff to provide a comprehensive and integrated range of therapeutic activities. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Recreational Therapy, or Elementary Education
  • National Certified Child Life Specialist - Association of Child Life Professionals (within 1 year of hire)

Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements a Child Life program focused on the emotional and developmental needs of hospitalized children, adolescents, and their families.
  • Works with medical, nursing, social service, Chaplaincy, and Volunteer Services staff to provide a comprehensive and integrated range of therapeutic activities.
