About The Position

St. Louis Children's Hospital is seeking a Child Life Assistant to work part time. This role is responsible for the safety and security of patients and families in the hospital playrooms, teen lounge and during special events. The Child Life Assistant supervises, directs, and coordinates the daily operations of these areas and the work of volunteers. They are also responsible for the daily tracking of needed information. The Child Life Assistant carries out the playroom and teen area activity programs as assigned, including plans and implements group activities that are developmentally appropriate, and assists in the coordination of special events. They are responsible for the daily safety and security of all patients and visitors and during special events by assuring that safety/security policies and practices are consistently followed. The role oversees the daily roles and responsibilities of volunteers in the CL areas and during special events by directing them to priority patients and guiding their work. The Child Life Assistant maintains an orderly and safe environment for all patients and families by overseeing and participating in the daily cleaning and maintenance of CL areas.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• <2 years experience
• No Supervisor Experience

Responsibilities
