About The Position

The Child Life Assistant will support the NICU at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. The primary responsibilities of this position are planning, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate play opportunities for patients. This role supports the Child Life Specialist in promoting normal growth and development for pediatric patients and families. The Child Life Assistant will also be involved on a regular basis with implementation of community and hospital-based programs that reflect the mission of the Child Life Program and Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• CRT-CPR - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree in child life, child development, child psychology, early childhood education, recreational therapy or related degree
• 1 year of relevant experience
• Previous work with children and / or teenagers
• 1 year of relevant experience Working with volunteers
• 1 year of relevant experience Program planning and development
