About The Position

The Child Development Center & Special Projects Manager supports the Child Development Center through administrative and operational oversight of grants, budgets, purchasing, compliance, projects, and related functions. The position also manages assigned special projects and initiatives across Community Services, including community events, visiting educators, Tribal veteran programs, and other cross-departmental activities, and supervising of assigned staff.

  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to pass a thorough pre-employment background and character investigation, including a DCYF background check.
  • Must agree to be subject to the Tribe's Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Policy, including pre-employment screening.
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification within 120 days of employment.
  • Must complete Mandatory Reporter Training within 90 days of employment.
  • Must complete and maintain all other required position-specific training in a timely manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Tribal sovereignty, Tribal governance, and childcare licensing requirements preferred.
  • Familiarity with graphic design and content creation software
  • Experience working with or for Native communities is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and coordinates administrative, grant, budget, purchasing, and project functions supporting the Child Development Center.
  • Develops and manages grant tracking systems and reporting processes for the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF), state, private, and other grants related to the Child Development Center.
  • Supports training and coordination efforts for Child Development Center staff related to licensing requirements, trauma-informed care practices, and Snoqualmie cultural practices.
  • Supervises assigned staff, including work direction, performance management, training and development, scheduling, timesheet approval, and accountability.
  • Stays informed of Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) policies, procedures, and updates and communicates relevant changes to Bright Horizons leadership.
  • Maintains accurate and organized records, tracking systems, and reports to support efficient program and department operations.
  • Facilitates cross-departmental communication, information sharing, and coordination of learning opportunities and classroom presentations.
  • Reviews and approves payment requests, purchase orders, RFPs, contracts, and other required internal documents related to the Childcare Development Center and assigned special projects.
  • Oversees the planning and coordination of assigned Tribal, community, and Child Development Center events and special programming.
  • Coordinates Tribal veteran programs, resources, events, and related grant-funded activities.
  • Develops and manages assigned event and project budgets, coordinates venues and permits, secures vendors and contractors, oversees logistics, and monitors timelines, deliverables, and outcomes.
  • Prepares, reviews, and presents reports, evaluations, budgets, proposals, action plans, and recommendations related to Child Development Center operations, grants, assigned projects, events, and program activities.
  • Gathers, analyzes, organizes, and evaluates data related to assigned projects, programs, and reporting needs.
  • Produces communication materials and documentation to support assigned projects, initiatives, and community engagement efforts.
  • Coordinates schedules for external and Child Development Center educators.
  • Oversees expense tracking, grant reporting schedules, and preparation of required reports and supporting materials.
  • Collaborates with department directors and staff across the Community Services tower to coordinate assigned projects, processes, communication, and documentation.
  • Maintains records related to contracts, purchases, agreements, resolutions, access, and other program and project materials.
  • Prepares, organizes, and tracks proposals and project materials.
  • Supports communication efforts and assigned projects across the Community Services tower for Tribal Member and public audiences through written, photographic, and video documentation.
  • Provides project and operational support to the Deputy Executive Director of Community Services and collaborates with department directors on assigned special projects.
  • Assists with tracking and oversight of large special projects, including curriculum development, Child Development Center construction and maintenance projects, veteran grant program funding, and other cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Conducts research, performs due diligence, and prepares reports.
