Child Development Behavior Specialist - Wheaton
About The Position
Blue Bird Day, a specialized intensive pediatric therapeutic day program, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate clinic-based Child Development Behavior Specialist to join their multidisciplinary team in Wheaton, IL. This role involves providing applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to children ages 2-7 years old with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neurodiverse needs. The specialist will foster each child's cognitive, social, emotional, adaptive, and developmental growth through individualized therapy, data collection, implementing evidence-based intervention plans under BCBA supervision, executing developmentally appropriate activities, collaborating with other therapists and social workers, and documenting progress while communicating with families.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or Early Education required
- Experience working with neurodivergent children preferred
- Registered Behavior Technician Certification preferred or willing to obtain
Responsibilities
- Providing individualized therapy
- Collecting data on programming
- Implementing evidence-based intervention plans under the supervision of a BCBA
- Implementing developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans in our classrooms
- Collaborating daily with physical and speech therapists, and social workers
- Documenting progress and communicating with families to support continuity of care
