About The Position

This position provides child care services in child watch areas, including personal care, hygiene, learning and development activities, and specialized programs. The role also prepares and maintains records and keeps child care property clean and orderly. The Child Care Worker assists with setting up, overseeing, and cleaning up children’s parties as scheduled. The position provides a safe, healthy, clean, and nurturing environment for children; maintains positive relationships with parents; plans age-appropriate hands-on activities; and provides opportunities for physical and mental stimulation through indoor and outdoor activities. The role also prepares and serves snacks, ensuring that children receive nutritious and appealing food.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, and two years of experience teaching child development programs in a church or preschool; alternatively, an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.
Ability to lift, hold, and carry toddlers on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

Provide constant, efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy care for children.
Build and maintain effective, positive relationships with parents to support an enriching and nurturing experience for their children.
Develop and implement age-appropriate hands-on activities.
Ensure appropriate supplies and materials are available and that children use them safely.
Provide opportunities for physical and mental stimulation through indoor and outdoor activities.
Prepare and serve nutritious, appealing snacks to children.
Prepare and maintain records.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of child care property.
Assist with the setup, oversight, and cleanup of children’s parties as scheduled.
