About The Position

The Carlsbad Educational Foundation (CEF) is hiring a Child Care Team Member for its KidsCare before- and after-school program. The role helps provide elementary-aged children with a safe, supportive, fun, and enriching environment where they can learn, grow, build friendships, and discover their potential. Team members support students through mentorship, hands-on learning, and meaningful connections.

CEF has partnered with the Carlsbad Unified School District for more than 40 years, providing educational programs for local students. Its mission is to invest in children's future success through education for all students by developing and funding programs in Music, STEAM, Innovation, and student enrichment.

This part-time position pays starting at $21 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday for 15–25 hours per week. The posting states there are no nights, weekends, or major holidays. Requirements

• 12 units in Child Development or a related field such as Education, Psychology, Sociology, Art, Music, Theater, or Physical Education.
• At least 6 months of experience working with children.
• DOJ fingerprint and background clearance.
• TB test and health screening.
• Passion for working with children.
• Reliability, flexibility, and dependability.
• Energy, positivity, and creativity.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Commitment to creating safe and welcoming environments.
• Interest in mentorship and youth development.

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification.
