About The Position

This seasonal and/or part-time position with the City of Longview supports the Before & After School Program for the 2026–2027 school year. The Recreation Leader helps provide a quality and safe environment for participants, parents, and staff. The role involves leading groups of 20–30 children in kindergarten through fifth grade and assisting with all aspects of the program. A pre-employment background check will be conducted. The City of Longview is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

• Availability to work 25–40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
• A pre-employment background check will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Lead 20–30 children in kindergarten through fifth grade through group activities.
• Escort children between activities.
• Assist site leaders and with all aspects of the before- and after-school program.
• Lead activities and monitor children’s behavior and performance.
• Motivate children and provide feedback to parents and children.
