About The Position
Bright Horizons is hiring a full-time Child Care Teacher in Whippany, New Jersey. The teacher provides supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in an early education or preschool child care center, following Bright Horizons’ policies and guidance and applicable laws and regulations. The role focuses on children’s safety, development, and daily learning, while working with families and maintaining a safe, clean classroom. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrate knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) for children.
- Pass required state and company background checks and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements.
- Comply with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements.
- Meet the physical and alertness requirements of the role, including responding promptly and appropriately to unexpected situations or emergencies.
Nice To Haves
- College-level coursework in early childhood education, a CDA, or an associate or bachelor’s degree in early education or a related field.
- One year of professional teaching experience in child care, daycare, or preschool settings.
Responsibilities
- Create hands-on activities that meet children’s needs and interests.
- Maintain open communication with parents and share children’s daily milestones.
- Keep the classroom safe and clean by following essential procedures and guidelines.
- Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in accordance with company policies, procedures, guidance, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Help ensure the safety of children in Bright Horizons’ care.
