About The Position

Bright Horizons is hiring a full-time teacher to work with toddlers at the Sheetz Corporate Center in Claysburg. The teacher provides supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in an early education/preschool child care center, following Bright Horizons’ policies and applicable laws and regulations to ensure children’s safety. The role offers the opportunity to learn from early education experts and pursue a CDA or college degree at no cost through the Horizons CDA & Degree Program.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Have college-level coursework in early childhood education, a CDA, or an associate or bachelor’s degree in early education or a related field.
• Demonstrate knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) for children.
• Pass required state and company background checks and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One year of professional teaching experience in child care, daycare, or preschool settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create hands-on activities that meet children’s needs and interests.
• Maintain open communication with parents and share each child’s daily milestones.
• Keep the classroom safe and clean by following required procedures and guidelines.
• Fulfill mandated reporter requirements, including reporting suspected child abuse or neglect to the appropriate State agency and informing the director.
• Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in accordance with Bright Horizons’ policies, procedures, and guidance and applicable laws and regulations.
