The Wake County Child Care Subsidy Program provides financial assistance to parents for their child care needs. The child care subsidy is based on an assessment of need, income and family size. Each county receives an annual allocation of state and federal funds used for subsidized child care services for its residents. Wake County also receives funding from the Wake County Smart Start Program. We provide information to the community on choosing and using quality child care. As a result of receiving quality childcare through the assistance of the Childcare Subsidy Program, children are better prepared for school success. We are currently recruiting for a Child Care Subsidy Eligibility Caseworker to join our team! The purpose of the Child Care Subsidy Eligibility Caseworker is to determine initial and ongoing eligibility for childcare subsidy to assist families in paying for childcare expenses. Parents who receive Childcare Subsidy are in need for the protection, care or developmental experiences of their child/children and fall in one of the following need categories: Work First, Employment, Education/Training, Child Protective Services, Foster Care, Developmental Needs, temporary homelessness or Child Welfare Services. The Child Care Subsidy Eligibility Caseworker is responsible for working with families and caregivers and providing information and assistance on needs, programs and services, and serving as a liaison between the program and the community. The strong candidate will be familiar with the Child Care Subsidy program and proficient in NCFast. NOTE: Wake County Health and Human Services employees are required to be in their current role for a minimum of one (1) year to be eligible to apply for another Human Services position.
